Lorraine Boury translates from English into French. An OTTIAQ member in good standing, she works primarily in the life sciences and their fields of application, including medicine, pharmacology, biotechnology, the environment and agriculture.

Ms. Boury holds degrees from the Institut National Agronomique, Paris Grignon (equivalent to a BA) and the École nationale du Génie rural, des Eaux et des forêts (equivalent to an MA), with a specialization in computer science. She began her career in France in telecommunications software development. She later specialized in the arts, and in 2003 received a bursary from the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec to write songs.

After earning a graduate diploma in translation from Concordia University (Montreal), Ms. Boury refined her editorial and technical skills through six months of mentoring provided by an experienced aeronautics translator.

Since 2007, a number of prominent clients — greatly appreciating her rigour, elegant style and courteousness — have entrusted her with their documents.
