Dwain Richardson joined the Médicotexte team in May 2015. He has always had a curiosity about language, leading him to learn French and Spanish during his primary and secondary school career. He went on to study Italian and Portuguese, and take courses in writing techniques and composition during his post-secondary studies. While Richardson was a student at the Université de Montréal, he had the opportunity to work for some federal departments and municipal administrations, including the Translation Bureau. The experience he gained propelled him to pursue a translation and written communication certificate at McGill University.

In addition to studying at McGill, he pursued a joint bachelor in modern languages and communication at the Université de Montréal. Given this mixed bag of education and experience, Richardson expressed an interest in a few sectors such as international development, history, music, travel and tourism, and education. Specialized fields fascinate him as well: namely, the environment and renewable energy as well as medical industries.

Richardson has been a freelance English editor, translator, and copywriter since 2013. Most of his projects come from individuals, small businesses, and not-for-profit organizations. Clients commend Richardson for his attention to detail, ability to deliver material on time and ask questions as needed, and great command of the English language.

When Richardson doesn’t have language industry-related projects on the table, he’s either busy with music ensembles or listening to music, taking nature walks, or teaching himself a new language (he’s learning Russian right now).
